A local shop just told me that the transmissions on yamahas are quite weak. He said that my blaster, which was just getting work done on it's tranny, could break things in the trans. again in just a couple of months, and that this is normal. Is this true? I am just learning to shift, and after just a few days of riding (not TOO many bad shifts) it already needed minor repairs?

Its my personal experiance that yahama trans. dont like to be shifted alot without using the clutch. I get off my ATC250R that I never touch the clutch on (except for stopping) and rode my friends blaster not even thinking about using the clutch. It did not want to shift as easily as the honda, and sometimes would not go into gear without pulling in the clutch. I dont know if that has anything to do with weekness of the trans, but maybe trying to shift it like that is damaging to a blaster?
