Well this price thing kills me.
Back in I say 87 or so, my younger brother had a lt 230, well he bought it new and traded it in on a new 250R.
I can't remember how long he had the 230, but it wasn't for long.
Do you know that they only wanted to give him $800 for it!

Also, I scan the papers and traders daily, your rite poeple want mega $$$$ for junk, well keep thier junk.

Some times I do find poeple asking to much and if I ride over thier they try to hold to thier word, I give them a real world offer, my card and see-ya. Within the next couple weeks they call begging!!!!!!

gaff,

Did you come over to my house trying to buy one of my quads? The guy kept trying to negotiate all the time. Finally told him if he came over and was a penny short I was going to send him out looking under the seat of his car for that last penny. lol. gaff is right...i've sold a bunch of dirt bikes, quads, jetskis, and trailers over the last couple of years. I always have at least one person show up and leave name and number for me to call them. Oh yea, they never call when the ad is still listed...it is always about a week or so later hoping I am desperate.

No I'm not that bad!!!
But I do make offers and leave when thier that bad.
I respect poeple and thier bikes, but not to make them rich.
I'll give you a couple, how about a kawasaki H-2 750, 1972 model restored, graet, awsome bike.
Now I owned many of these, drag raced them for seven years. I have all the info on them and more, in 1972 this bike went for $1200 new, in 1977 I bought one with 500 miles on it for $500.
This guy was asking $6995, now come on.
Or how about the lady who wanted to sell me her sons XR-100, 94 model for 1100, well it looked good untill you seen the motor hand granaded, got it for $400

The reason is the manufacturers don't want to sell parts for an affordable amount. If you spent $5000 on a lawn mower and used it once a week for 5 years, it would be worth $500 bucks. If you bought a quad and did the same it would be called like new and sell for what you bought it for. Quads are way over priced new and because they break so easily the old junkers are worth their weight in gold just for the parts. I found an old kawasaki motorcycle behind an abandoned store. I parted it out and made about $600 on it so far. I had one guy offer $100 for the whole thing. A beat to heck banshee will sell for $1800 because the parts are worth that much. You could never spend enough to fix it up 'cause the dealer would charge you 5 times as much for the parts that are being sold used. That's the way it is. You can either buy new, buy junk, or wait for a miracle.
