banshee starting troubles-need help!
#1
my banshee wont start by kicking unless its warmed up. it will start fairly quick when i jump it ,but with a cold moter i kick a thousand times without any success. i thought that maybe the rings were wore and compression is week untill warmed up and the rings expanded. then someone said to check the stator for dirt .
any one have any opinions?? i havent had the time to check anything out yet , i just keep bump starting it when its cold, but thats getting old! its a 95' if that matters
thanks

I had a similar problem, only when mine was warmed up, it would take 4-5 kicks to start, but it would start on the first kick when it was cold. I installed a lean pilot jet, now it starts first kick, hot or cold.
By inverting the above logic, it sounds like maybe your Pilot jet is lean, and you need to richen it.
Have you been to www.bansheehq.com ? They have a jetting forum that may be of assistance.

I would say check the compression. It sounds like the motor is just tired. I would not recommend riding it till you check compression and if it is low you need to freshen up the top-end. If you continue to ride it you take the risk of doing some expensive damage when a new top-end will only set you back a couple bills.
