I was wondering i have a 2000 grizzly and it is the most powerful bike i have ever ridden. My question is, i have 400km's on it and i am from Quebec Canada, so we have snow right now and cold weather, but i am only getting 70km's to one tank of gas and that is in 2wd. I hear that it should atleast get 120km's.
Does anyone have any ideas.
No problems at all, very reliable so far and rides like a dream.

 

I live in Ontario and we have alot of snow at the moment and I find that in the colder air and in riding 2wd in the snow that I tend to be reving the motor alot more and I seem to get about the same amount of K's to a tank of gas as you are, in the summer I get about 90-110 kms to a tank depending on how I'm riding! My Grizzly is a '99 with about 3900 problem free kms!!

The snow and cold DEFINATLY has an effect on fuel consumption. I live in New Brunswick, and needless to say, we're up to our @$$es in snow right now. More than usual. I've noticed a BIG difference in both my car and Wolv's fuel consumption. Actually, I was out on my bike last weekend for a few hours, and didn't even bother to check the tank because I had just fueled up on my last trip, and I can usually get a few 3 hour runs on a tank of gas. Well we ended up near my friends' houses, so they went straight home leaving me to drive the 8 km home alone. After a very long, cold drive home alone through the woods at 3am, I ran out of gas as I pulled into my driveway. I was already unknowingly on reserve, so I would have been sitting in the woods for a while. I didn't have a flashlight, and there was no moon, so I would have been there until dawn. And not to sound like a *****.... but I am not a big fan of the woods at night by myself. WAAAAAA!.
Yup, I won't forget again that bikes use more fuel in winter. Especially when you're the one breaking the trails.
