Well, just got back from a weekend trip from Wisconsin. We rode hard for 2.5 days. Ran 2 complete tanks through the ole girl, and as usual, didn't have a bit of a problem.
My bud owns a 97' 300EX. We finally lined um up and ran them against one another. Keep in mind this wasn't a great test because of the following conditions. We were cruising in second gear in the snow at night.
I pulled on him a little through third and fourth, but not by more than a half a bike.
More less we were equal. Towards the end of the run 1/4-1/2 mile, he got me by at least 2 atv lengths, at which time, I tried to grab another gear but Yamaha forgot to put 6th gear in her..
Yes, I'm not comparing apples to apples. The Wolv is a 4x4 350cc, and at least 150lbs heavier, not to mention I weigh 40 lbs more than him but we have been curious how they would compare. As far as I know, his bike is stock and the only aftermarket parts on the Wolv. was the Durablue axle.
F.Y.I. he had a 2000 limited 600 cc Polaris Snowmobile run along side him earlier that day to clock his speed and the best he could muster was 55 mph. I would guess then that the Wolv. is stuck at 53-54 in stock form.
I'm sure we'll be running them again this summer. It should be interesting.
One more note,,, We did alot of thick woody trail riding, and I'd hate to have any heavier/longer machine than my Wolv. Going slow wouldn't be a problem on a big sport ute, but running in third gear through the sticks at night in the snow was pretty hairy but fun..

If you want to race him this summer take him out to about a three foot deep mudhole stop in the middle (no hydroplaning ) then see how he makes out getting out of that. As far as drag racing I have a 95 wolverine with stock 25in. big bear tires , K&N filter FMF megamax 2 pipe and a vented airbox lid . I have a friend with a 99 scrambler 500 . I can stay right beside him until we reach about 60 mph then he hes about 3 mph on me .By the way he's about 5'4 and 130 lbs and I am 6'3 and 255lbs. I also have a friend who is a cop and ha radared me at 60mph. Pretty good for a bike with a top end that was designed about 13 years ago. If someone really wants to drag race me I just get out my 82 GS1100 They usually dont ask me again!!!

We went 60 miles north of Milwaukee. "Ferdonia". It is at camp Awana where we take the boys from church each year for winter camp. We took 26 with our little convoy, but in all, 300+ boys attended this weekend.
The best part of it all, the camp actually gives us a $10 break for bringing our quads. I about fell over!
The whole purpose mind you is to pull the little tikes on inner tubes and give rides. Both of which our guys did most of the day. But the night however, was left to Big Boy playing. ![Smile](https://atvconnection.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
