I am planning on making some suspension mods on my raptor, but I dont know if I should go with +2 or +3 in the front, and +4 or +6 out back witch would work best for the dunes? Also what type of shocks work best with these mods?

I can't really speak much for the dunes, but from what I was told, wider is better out there.

As for the trails, I like the +2+1 TimmyBoy a-arms I have. With the stock rims, a Raptor with +2 a-arms is the same width as a 400EX with 1 inch offset rims (Douglas Rims are normally +1 offset). So, +2 seems right to me, and I haven't found any place on the trails yet that I can't go because I'm too wide (Have had some tight squeezes tho).

I would go with +3 and on the swing arm its up to you I would go with +4 but you will have to get new shocks with your arms and if you are doing that look into the long travle arms they are the best hight but you get what you pay for

I took the relatively cheap route first. Offset front wheels (ITP steel 2" wider each side) and Durablue EZ-fit spacers (2.5&quot in the rear. Wider is better. I know there are better, tricker, ways of getting there but for me this was the simple answer. I rode the dunes (imperial sand dunes - glamis and such) over T-giving and WOW the wider Raptor really handles. I also put on an FMF slip on pipe and Works front shocks and that improved things nicely too!

Good luck, Eric

Hello,
I have a 2001 alba Raptor. I told them that I wanted it wider for dunes and dirt. I have an awesome package. +3Lonestar axle, front Elka Triple Rate shocks with resevoirs, +2+1 alba A arms +2" swingarm. It handles and climbs with the best. Also Dg nerfs, trailtech speedometer/odometer, pep steering stabilizer, 12 tooth front, steel braided lines, douglas 190's with Holeshots Xc's.
If you ask the professionals they will say have the rear end one inch shorter or so than the front. My Raptor measures 50" width on front and about 49.5 in the rear.
