720,

I looked at the graph and have a few questions.....

1. How come you are only at 41hp when several mags have reported close to 50?
2. Were both tests run on the same quad?
3. Did you play around with jetting or just set it up for one pipe and then switch?
4. Any idea why they are using 5 valves and still have a flow problem on the intake side?

I like what you are trying to do, and you seem to have some good information on what works in the shop. Please don't take the rest of this post negitively as I can see your point. I'm just trying to explain why those that change to the complete system have a hard time beliving you.

My Big Gun seems to have a much better mid to top throttle response then the stock setup. Maybe this is why it feels faster. When running on flat ground, the track, or in the woods I am all the time finding the end of the power band, but the only time I have ever noticed a lack of low end grunt is when I am crawling over rocks....Even before I switched sprockets.

BTW....It doesn't suprise me that the two setups are so close. I have the Big Gun because I got a killer deal. It took alot of playing to get it setup correctly and it is not nearly as forgiving to changing temp. and alt. as the stock setup was. If I was going to do it over again I would take your route and forget about it.

Also I don't put much stock in side by side racing because there are so many things that affect the results. My experence tells me that who wins is rarely a result of 1 or 2 extra horsepower in the lower RPM's. We are not pulling a plow, or a 5000 pound trailer. When racing does anyone you know let out the clutch and let the motor do the work? Or do they rev it up and dump the clutch? It takes pretty high gearing to utilze that lower power band you are working toward. (IMO...high gearing will lose more drivability then you have added)

In dirt if you take the time to let the motor work below 5000 rpm's you have already lost the race.

Do I have graphs to back this up...no...but it sure is a lot tougher to hold on!!!! ;&lt
