Umm...
I have been reading your previous posts guy.. And.. The one in the Cannondale forum says that you had a 2001 Raptor.. Sold it, bought a 2002 Raptor.. Then you said you sold it too. Don't make me call your mommy and tell her what you're doing while the baby sitter's making out with her boyfriend.

Get the Raptor. You're going to do more trail riding then you are racing, and reverse is kind of cool. Then there's the price issue. To get the C-dale that's outfitted for GNCC racing, the "Blaze 440", you have to part with $10,450 (list). The Raptor lists for $6500. If you're just starting out racing, the quad won't make a lot of difference. You can be on a $20,000 race quad and still lose to the more experienced racers on lesser machines. The '02 Raptor is a great all round quad (with reverse) that has a lot of potential to go different directions depending on your mods. As far as the 400EX being the best trail quad, yeah it's pretty good, but you have to look at the magazine doing the review. If it's Dirt Wheels, they go for anything with red plastic, regardless of the facts.

I might be out of line by asking this.
If I am wrong, just say so.
You, killer400ex, and KNOWITALL, wouldn't happen to be the same guy would you?
Like I said, I may be wrong, but your mis-spelled words are amazingly similar.

LOL...his entire post is one sentence. That's pretty funny.
However, this forum isn't about being able to read or write. It's about people sharing an interest in something. It would be much easier to comprehend if things were spelled correctly, but it's not a big deal.
Now onto the question at hand...If you did have a 2001 Raptor you know what the 2002 will be like (they didn't do anything really drastic to change them). If you didn't like your 2001, you probably won't like the 2002 (unless the things that you didn't like were the few things that did get "updated"
.
You didn't say that price was an object, so go ahead and get the Cannondale and you won't have to wonder what you are missing. You'll know right off if you like it better than a Raptor or not. If you do like it better then great...if not, then sell it.

What would you guys recommend, a used banshee or a '02 raptor? I will be doing a little trail riding(winter too) and motocross. I want something reliable but fast. I have ridden a '98 banshee many times before, and loved the acceleration, but I havent even seen a raptor around here yet. Does the raptor have the same acceleration even though ya it is a 4-stroke.

I can't speak from experience but a stock raptor probably won't "feel" as fast as a stock banshee but should accelerate better than one, especially in the dirt. If you are riding trails and snow you would probably be happier on the raptor but the banshee is still a blast to ride.
