Yes, you are right. It is a 60cc. The engine shaes the majority of its parts with the PW50 motorcycle, so it shouldn't be a problem for finding parts years from now.
It is a very dependable machine but there is one weakness that should be looked at carefully often. Not that the rear gears are prone to failure, but when it does fail, it is very costly. The ring gear is machined as part of the axle assembly on this machine. And when it goes out, it takes everything else in there with it. When you buy the axle/ring gear, pinion gear, and all the bearings and seals neccesary to have it fixed, your good deal will end up being a $800.00 repair bill.
Like I said, they aren't prone to fail, so just keep an eye out for that and keep your gear oil changed more regulary than is required as extra insurance against it.

I used to own a 86 and my sister also had 3 1986's for her kids and had zero problems with any of them, but all of them were maintained very well. My daughter used hers for racing flat track and did very well with it. I have alot of extra parts left over after I sold it that Iam interested in getting rid of if you are interested. I have a complete motor that was profesionally stroked to about 70cc it comes with carb it would just need to be bolted in a frame to run. I also have a dg pipe and wheel spacers for the rear and special hubs for the front that let you run the aluminum 6 inch go cart rims with the stock tires or the lower profile go cart tires for flat track racing. I would sell everything for $425 email me if you would be interested.
