A full BG is lousy. I remember when my brother and I got our new Raptors on the same day. He bolted his full BG on and walked away from me in a 2nd gear roll on through the gears. It was on pavement and he slaughtered me w/ no jetting or airbox mods. BG's are junk. We did the same roll ons w/ an HMF slip on and all jetting to both quads. The BG won everytime and I rode the HMF quad also. Oh my brother is 230 I'm 180. BG's are garbage, don't buy one.

Anyone remember the previous CT racing pipe test for the Raptor (before the 50hp hype). The initial page shows a nice graph boasting good gains. They raced a stock Raptor and the results were pathetic. I thing the piped Raptor actually lost. I may be able to find the mag if anyone is interested.

lets see if this makes sense:"I remember when my brother and I got our new Raptors on the same day. He bolted his full BG on and walked away from me in a 2nd gear roll on through the gears" followed by "The BG won everytime and I rode the HMF quad also" sounds like a BG endorsment to me. Hey I dont work for BG or care if they sell any systems, but my quad is seriously modified, I have the "big cam" with a full 270 degree duration 102mm high comp piston, polish and port, you name it I have done it, and you know I got the most "boost" for my dollar ($230) when I bolted on the BG silencer, I cant say the same for the head pipe which I added later and made no diff in performance, but that was before I "built up" the motor. just my opinion, check the race circuit, you'll find a lot of BG out there

There is only one cam on the market today that I would consider a big cam that could use the over sized exhaust. If you have not cut your guides, you don't have that big cam. Any of the drop in cams (with less than 430" lift are mild).
Why do people run full BG systems?? Hype, lack of knowledge, the "other guy that beat me had one", it looks cool, etc.

well I am only getting .355" of lift out of my cam, though it is considered a racing cam, when I find something more radical I will probably switch. but I dont buy into "hype", the other guy never beats me so maybe he/she is buying BG when I smoke em, and while looking cool is not a primary concern, it beats a "butt ugly" system, so thats just a perk. If I knew one of the other systems would get me a few extra hp or torque I would scrap the BG, I have no brand loyalties, if it doesnt do what I want I get something else, I respect your opinion Jon, but my BG system is doing the job
