I recently raced my Raptor in a 120 mile desert race - mostly sand. Seems like I could have really used a good steering damper. Is there something similar to a Scotts damper out there ?? How effective are they on a quad ?

Thanks, Eric

I have a denton steering stabilizer on mine (do mostly baja-type riding here in NM), if definatly helps, if you set it too high though it will make your steering sluggish, so I mostly use the lower settings (1-3)

I got a PEP and it does'nt fit correct without modifications. There are 3 settings and I can only use 2. Very disappointed with this product. Steering damper helps out a lot on the Raptor. Much less fatigue.

I heard that the Denton one is a good one to get. Nac's has them for $134.95. K&K has the standard for $134.95 and the re-buildable one for $159.00 and of course Denton sells the 7 click (standard) for $139.95 and their alloy Damper (re-buildable also 7 click) for $159.95. I'm sure there are other companies that sell for around the same price but these are the recent ones that came to mind after reading Dirtwheels.

Thanks for the info - The Denton units sounds like a good choice. Does anyone know where I can see a picture of one installed. I cannot seem to find any pics and their web-site does not have much info...

Thanks again

Even the installation instructions had such a poor picture it was almost useless. the unit has a clamp that goes on the steering stem and a screw that attaches out the front near the bumper, before tightening it down make sure to turn the handlbars all the way in each direction to be sure it clears, on one side it comes very close to the oil reservoir. other than that it is an easy install, the dirtwheels review several months ago may have had a picture of it installed

I Ordered the Denton re-buildable stabilizer today - $149. From what I can tell it's the same manufacturer as what Muscle and Graydon Proline sells.

Thanks for the input guys
