My blaster is torn down for the following mods:
*Boring .040 over
*Milling head .030 over
*Vitos' +5 horsepower piston
*Jet Kit
*Degree Key
*outerwears (to run my K&N without airbox lid safely
*possibly port
One of my frinds has a 400 sport...about the same as a 500 scrambler speed wise (a little faster ). I will tell you how it goes once i get it completed.
p.s. : i live near Elkin, about an hour west of Winston-Salem

If you get a big bore kit for your blaster, you would need to port & polish your motor, get an extended swingarm so you don't spend all day with your front wheels in the air, and get a bigger carb. Otherwise, the big bore kit will be wasted because it will not be able to breath. The kit might let you keep up with a 250r, but i'm not so sure about the banshee. You would be better off buying a 250r or banshee. Blasters can become unreliable with big bore kits.
I'v heard of people going a long time with no reliability problems, but then again, i've also heard of people blowing the motor pretty quickly. If you bought a used 250r, you would be just as fast as a big bore blaster but a whole lot more reliable. And you would also have a better handling quad with better suspension.

QuadBuster: Do you live near the East Bend Racetrack? Ive never been there but I ve heard they had an awesome table top (80-foot I believe) for motorcycles. Also have you ever been to Crutchville? My brother's girlfreind lives in East Bend...about 30 minutes from here. Maybe when the Blaster is ready or I get the Banshee fixed (my ex-freind wrecked it) we can hook up and ride sometime...e-mail me ( lynyrdskynyrdfan2002@yahoo.com )

Yep, I live just right through the woods from the track.
The 80ft. table top is just the begining. The track is pretty awesome and they change it every year.
They will burn you a new a$$hole for riding at Crutchville powerlines if you get caught. Duke Power "used" to not enforce it.......until about a year ago when they finished up a new building on the facility. There is usually an officer patroling every weekend from my understanding. They'll write you a ticket in a hearbeat and inpound your quad on the spot. Dont believe me? I can give you the phone #'s to two of my old riding pals or you could call the HOnda shop in MT. Airy and ask their Mechanic about Crutchville. "Dont Go"! Dont let anyone talk to in to riding there unless your willing to pay the price. Just a forewarning. The weekend that everyone was busted (75 riders)...my quad just so happened to be down. Luckly I missed out on that ride. Down side to it all,......that was some great riding and hillclimbs!
We need to get together sometime and ride. I've got 133 acres that we're cutting trails on as fast as we can right here in East Bend.
