full systems, installed as recommended by the manufacturer. So, if they sent you a pipe and did not recommend any airbox mods then they left it stock.

ZRWHAT: the article stated that DMC had no spark arrestors in their units which is why they were not included
as Raptor660RNH pointed out the airbox mods and filter make a big difference, I run a big gun race series but I have the K&N filter, and the only thing left of my airbox are the edges and the prongs which hold the filter in place (as close to no lid as I could get), I may not get the nice curves the ct system showed, but the difference is not enough to change systems.

I may go out and buy this issue just so I have something to look at as far as numbers and comparisons but I was just wondering why HMF and the GYT-R weren't tested? Those were the 2 pipes I was basically looking at and according to the people that have read the magazine I guess im still left in the dark!

NO SHOWS:

DG claimed the had no pipe to give. Dirtwheels attempted to purchase one...but they were back ordered in the pro-shops.

Supertrapp also had no pipes on hand

Duncan & LRD were absent because they run closed course racing and do not have spark arresters.

DMC, Speedworks, HMF are in the process of designing spark arrester exaust systems.

vraptor and Raptor660RNH: I understand, but DMC does offer a spark arrestor for the raptor pipe, it is the basic "Supertrapp" design. I have seen it offered for sale many places $75, not sure why they wouldn't have offered Dirt Wheels one?

Well i just switched to a 146/150 main combo and im going to try that. I was surprised at how rich a lot of these pipe manufacturers set up the raptor, well see how it goes maybe ill go even richer

I bought a HMF slip-on for my son's Raptor and sent it back because it was too loud. Then they sent me their "Quiet Core", also with spark arrestor. My son is VERY Happy with it. (He never saw the loud one)
.....I am very happy with it. It is indeed quiet, barely louder than stock, and gives him a bunch more power, with no rejetting so far. I'm sure a little more power could be coaxed out of it with airbox mods and rejetting, but this is great for now, and Super easy. He's 13 and weighs 90 lbs so he already has a speed advantage over the rest of you guys.
.....Santa also brought him 22" Razrs for the rear, we flipped the linkage, and a set of Banshee Bend Renthals. Little bro, age 4&1/2 got a Raptorette complete with Blaster A-arms and Works Shocks. Yea Santa!

Wow now that is a hell of a ride for a 13 yr old!! I shouldnt talk though I had a 250 quadracer back in 1986 when i was 11. My Raptor seems to pull better on top, more willing to rev with the rich jetting. Thank god the mud is finally all frozen!!

Which set-up appeared to produce the most low end and mid range power? Can anyone post quietest to loudest?
