I rode my Grizz pretty hard this past weekend through some ddep snow, and was pleasantly surprised that the temp lgiht never came on. Later I was thumbing through the service manual and read that if you start the machine with the tranny in neutral, the light should come on as a self check. So I gave it a shot and my light did not come on. So I stopped in my dealer today and asked about it and they said it should never come on. When I asked how can I tell it is working, they didn't have an answer for me. Anyway, all you Grizz owners - does your temp light come on when starting the bike in neutral? Incidentally the manual says if the light comes on when you start the bike in park, you've got problems.

The light on mine does not come on when starting in neutral. As far as know the light should only come on when it is actualy hot.

to check your light. turn the main switch on and then the engine stop switch. should be no need to start the quad.

My light doesn't come on neither when doing the test described on 3-36 in service manual.Nor does my dad's, or two I checked at the dealer. So I checked the thermo switch #2,as described on 9-50 in service manual, and it shows to be bad. With it unpluged the light stays on.It only goes off when it is grounded.I don't understand how it could momentarily come on like it says it should in the manual. My dealer said to bring it in and he would fix it.I told him to fix the two on his showroom floor and call me with the answer.I bet he won't call so any help would be much obliged.

Same thing here, my light doesn't come on...

I wouldn't care as much if the machine didn't run so hot.

Sivlerbear, Andy, how about your machines?

I figure the light comes on for a second or so when you start it, but I haven't really looked. Most quads light up all the lights at startup just like cars do.

As far as the engine oil temp light, I've never seen one come on ever. Not once since 1985 on any quad. I've had some hot, but never saw the temp light come on.
