I just got my 2000 blaster ported, a vitos piston, I bored it .040 over, milled to head .030, got an oil-injection block off kit, jet kit, and outerwears for my K&N filter (so I can run it without the airbox lid). I already had a K&N filter and FMF Tourque reeds. My question is , since I have the stock pipe, will I hurt anything by having so much air coming in and not enough coming out? Also can I still run on pump (octane 93) gas? Thanks for your oppinions!

If you paid all that money for those engine upgrades, why the heck would you not buy a new pipe and silencer. It is worth the extra money to get that restrictive pipe and silencer off there.

You don't have any extra air coming in because the stock pipe won't let it out. You need to get an aftermarket exhaust to let more air out then you will take more in.

No, don't. On a two stroke, you get the majority of your gains from the expansion chamber. Taking off the silencer will yeild a little more power, but cause quite the obnoxiuous exhaust note.

Why do all that work? I'd start wit the basics of pipe/silincer and then go from there. I can't help you with the 93 octane question, sorry.

Milling the head will give you more compression. Is that Vitos piston a high compression piston or just a regular oversize piston? The reason I ask is the higher your compression the more octane you will need. If you know the stock compression reading for the quad and you take a compression reading now, you will see the difference between the two. If there is a big difference then you might want to mix a little race gas with the 93 octane. Don't forget too that the higher the compression the colder the spark plug you'll need. You might have to jump down one heat rating on the plug. The only way to find out is to run the quad and experiment. Remember to make only one change at a time and keep notes while doing so. First thing I would do is replace that stock silencer then try and tune it in.
