Afraid to order Douglas Red Labels...think they might bend.

I've heard stories that the Red Label .190's have no rolled edge and they are easier to bend than the stock Warrior rims. Is this true? From the look of my stock rims, I'm afraid to order the .190's. Don't get me wrong, I haven't bent the stock rims but the edges of them have taken a beating. Should I look at getting another set of stock rims for the new set of tires or should I get a set of Douglas Ultimates. The Ultimates have the rolled edge but their price is Ultimate too. I know alot of you guys out there have different rims, what are your opinions? Which way should I go?

my .190s are soft as butter..they are ready for the Trash soon...rode with them in Vermont on some Power line roads full of rocks..i am positive that my stock rims would have held up much better. I rode with them about 5 times..each rim has a huge dent wherer the rolled egde would normally be. The 190s are not all they are cracked up to be....now evrytime i go in to the garage..the bike sits lopsided because one of the rims just dosn't hold air.
I HATE THAT!!

in my opinion, you have 4 options:
1. get another set of stock rims, which are much stronger than any of the .190's, due to the rolled bead. However, i do believe that ITP makes a .190 rim with a rolled bead.
2. get the .190's, but get them with reinforcing rings, or the possibility of the ITP rolled bead ones.
3. Any of the douglas ultimate wheels, which, when compared to the price of a stock rim, really doesn't look that outrageously priced. a new yamaha rim is $162.20 on eastcoastatv.com's partfinder...yikes!!
4. The ultra trick carbon fiber rims from hiper-techonology. not sure the price on them, but they would really set your quad apart

Ridnwarrior I have a rear set of 8 inch Douglas Ultimates with conventional centers for sale if you are interested. These are not beadlocks but have the rolled edge. They're are in mint condition and I only used them a few times on my raptor which I no longer own. I'll sell them for $110 plus shipping. I prefer the Ultimates over the .190's by far. A much stronger wheel with a coated finish. I have bent several .190's over the years with relative ease. The extra cost is worth it to me.

Hey man, email me at taz_ex@hotmail.com and send me some pics and I might be able to buy them. Could I buy those reinforcement rings and have them welded on the Ultimate wheels? E-mail me and let me know. Thanks

yodaddy,
if you know anyone with a tig welder, they can do it for you, it's not a hard job, but you need the right equipment. it cost a pretty penny to send them off to a quad shop to have the rings welded on, but if any of your freinds has a tig welder, or if you can access one cheaply, have it done yourself.
