If you want a reliable quad but a rougher ride...go with the Kodiak. If you want a soft ride but lots of time in the shop...get the Polaris.

Better yet...just look through the polaris forum and look at all the problems people are talking about with the sportsman...then look at the problems and complaints on the kodiak in the yamaha forum. Bet you find very few problems with the kodiak and lots of complaints on the Polaris. I'm not bashing, just look for yourself.

See my previous post to your question in regards to comparing the Grizz660 to the Kawi650. My line of thought, personally, still stands. For myself, I would prefer the IRS over the swingarm solid axel. That being said, you do need to take into consideration reliability issues. From my experience only, Polaris has a problem here. I do have to say I've not seen it on the SP700, but the smaller quads I have and they are 2001 models. I bought an '02 Kodiak for my wife, and so far, the quad has not only been trouble free, but it has amazed me as to where it would go, being as it is a solid axle. Look at the type of riding you're going to be doing, and from there I would make the decision based on suspension.
