Damn mice. Kodiak top speed only 49-50mph

Just run my 2001 Kodiak with about 400 miles on it. Bone stock, on the flat road and it topped out at about 49 - 50 mph. That was all she had. Last year I swear the thing was good for about 55 - 56 mph. Checked the valve adjustment, throttle linkage, etc for problems. Nothing found. Did find lots of bird seed and corn in the air box along with a chewed up air filter.(Damn mice) Cleaned out and run again with no air filter briefly but didn't see no gain. Anyone think a little bird seed and corn could damage a cylinder bore? Most likely pulled some in through carb yesterday on a 16 mile ride through some bumpy trails. Thanks in advance to all who reply

No way...seeds going into your engine wouldn't hurt it one bit...no siree bob. And don't worry about the dust and dirt entering through the ripped filter either. Did you clean and check your carb? Hopefully you didn't hurt anything. Check that filter regularly man or I'll have to kick you in the ****!!! lol
