Komatsu,

I was wondering if your winch hit the front tire? But I see it is not a WARN. I have a WARN 2500 on mine and it almost hits the front right in left turns. I hope that the Bear Claws in Stock Size do not hit.
What size Bear claws did you run and how do their sizes run? Some 25's in other Mfg's are taller and some are smaller. How about the Bear Claws?

THEROCK,
I mounted my winch on top of my front rack. I did this for a couple reasons. One is that in this area we get some deep snow and a few of the guys I ride with have theirs mounted below and they become encased in ice and snow very quickly. Second is that mud is the same story. It is very difficult to free spool and maintain a winch that you can hardly get to. About those bear claws, I had them on a 96 polaris scrambler. They kicked butt. I put the stock size on and I forget what that was. Its too bad those polairs machines don't hold up because they sure run good. I must say I will never own another one.
Do you know if anyone offers a fender extention kit for the kodiacs yet? And have you heard if a possi locker in the front will effect the stearing when in 2wd? Yamaha needs to work on the limited slip front end a little. I call it limited grip right now.

Hi,

I have not seen many accessories for the Kodiak yet. New Model blues you know.
As for Locker front ends. DON'T do it. It will wear you out FAST. Put it this way. If you turn to the left full lock and let go of the bars, it will continue to go left. You have to pull it back with the same force you had to push it with.
How about the Bear Claws. When you replaced the stock tires, where they the same size in comparason? I know that Black Waters run small. A friend of mine had to get 25's to match his 24's.
Be patient. Yamaha has been caught off guard with Honda,s and Artic Cat's smart front ends. I like to trade every 2 years anyway. I hope Yamaha gives the Kodiak 50 more cc's and a smart front end.
I love her the way she is for now.

If I remember right the bear claws seemed to run very similar to stock size. I think I went one size widder on the rear. The mud sharks I told you I just put on my kodiac realy fit nice. They give it a real beefy look but are not huge. I will take your word for it on the locker. I always have my winch on board if I need it.
Thanks
