changing front pads on my wolverine
#1
how difficult of a task is this? I haven't changed break pads on a quad in YEARS.
Went and bought the set for my 99, they were $75 for 2 pairs! OMG... they have gone up! I remember buying them for my 250x and they only cost about $30 for the fronts.
anyways, anyone got any online documentation or a scanned version of the repair manual?
any advice/tips

Hi,
Brake pad replacement is pretty easy, after removing the wheel,it is just a removal of 2 bolts holding the caliper on, then bending back the lips on the retaining washer holding the 2 longer bolts the pads slide on. Take out the bolts, the pads and the metal springs behind them will fall out, make sure you make note of the way they sit in there for reassembly. Clean up the caliper,(use brake cleaner for any residue) and spray down the new parts to make sure they're clean, then push the pads with metal spring plates behind them, up into the caliper, line up the bolt holes, put on the retaining washer, install the bolts, tighten them down and bend up the lip on the retaining washer to hold the bolt head from turning out, put the caliper back on the rotor, one more spray down after tightening the mounting bolts(ya, I'm a clean freak, but it keeps the dirt and oil off the new brake parts !!) Put the wheel back on, torque to spec, pump the brake lever a few times to seat the pads, check your brake fluid level, and it should be ready to roll. If I have left anything out, somebody jump in and let me know!
