maybe you need a new plug. One or more of your jets may be clogged. The airfilter could be dirty. The jetting could be off. Timing may have retarded itself too much and won't run well at high RPM's. fuel line may be clogged and won't let enough fuel to the carb.

To clean the filter, i'm assuming it has a foam filter on it, just soak it in a container of gas. Then squeeze the gas out of it and then soak and squeeze again. NGK makes good spark plugs. If you want to check your gas line, disconnect it from the gas tank and the other end from the carb, get an air compressor and blow air down the line. Make sure the filter was on properly or you could have sucked dirt into the motor and damaged your reeds. The owners manual should have details for cleaning the air filter and re-oiling it. Is the filter a paper filter or foam filter? Your dad could probably tell you if you are not sure. If it is a paper filter, you can just blow the dust out by blowing on the thing with a leaf blower or air nozzle. and also, if it is a paper filter, DO NOT OIL IT.

soak the filter in gas and squeeze as much as the gas out as possible. Do that 3 or 4 times and let the remaining gas evaporate off the filter. I don't know what kind of plug the blaster has so just ask for a plug that fits a blaster.

P.S. spray the inside of the carb with carb cleaner (any brand). And i forgot to mention, oil the filter before you install it.
