what type of riding do you do, because the 400 is better on the trails and the banshee is better in more open spaces. i would get the 400 because i ride trails and it looks better but the banshee has a better power band

Shee in the sand and EX for the trails.

Both good bikes.

If you are not going in the open spaces take the EX. I like 4-strokes.

If you will mostly be in the sand / open spaces the Shee is a kick.

Does either bike have an aftermarket pipe? Paddles? Air filter / jetting?

You are looking at $400 for these options if the bike doesn't come with them.

Well I use to just trail ride, at my camp, but we sold our camp. But now we're moving on the lake, and across the street, theres a big pit, and i dunno what kinda trails there is back theere, but i imagine there some nice ones.

I would also maybe wanna race. that would be fun. I just called this one dude selling his shee, its a 99', hes got pipes on it, and i dunno what else, and he raced it for one season, and im really interested in racing, and hitting jumps in the pit and stuff.
I know that the shee doesnt have great low-end power like the 400ex, but i could get some mods, so it does. cause i'll trail ride also, as well as pit, and maybe racing, (later on).
So i dont what one to buy.

Where exactly are you moving? Either one of these bikes will be fun around Sudbury. Once you get to know the pits around Garson and Falconbridge you'll have a ball on a Banshee. Also there are lots of roads around where you'll rule on a Banshee.
Don't get paddles, not for around here. You;ll be able to climb any hill you want anyway, and the paddles are useless unless you want to truck teh quad to teh pit, and then stay in the same pit all day long.
One big disadvantage teh Banshee has is that you can't ride it for very long, or very far without gasing up.

Personally, I'd go with the 400EX, but either one would be a good choice for this area.
Hopefully we'll meet up on the trail (or in the pit) one of these days, if this latest batch of snow ever melts.

Get the 400EX. More bottom-end torque, better handling, more reliable.
2-strokes will be obsolete in a few years anyway.

The Banshee is faster, but it is a 2-stroke. I would go with the 400 because of 4-stroke reliability.

K, i have decided

This guy i used to go to school with, he's selling his 99' banshee

Hes got pipes, and other stuff, im not too sure what else. He used to race it. It is the fastest atv in sudbury. Well used to be, but hes got a 2000 shee all suped up, and he said it does like 105mph. But, ah he's selling his 99' for 5800 and he's willing to go down to 5400
so i think, i'll go with taht. he said he got it going 95mph
thats so crazy, wow
