beartracker help

i have a 99 beartracker and ever since i got a flat about 3 months ago i started to hear noises where my back brakes connect to the tire when i drive slow? what could it be

p.s i rode the flat about half a mile on pavement

My beartracker did the same thing I couldn't figure it out but when I had my warranty replace the rear end (I dont think the rear end is why) I told them to clean my brakes, I don't know if they did do it though , but there isnt a squeek anymore. My guess is there was dust, dry mud, or hard water in the brakes. So try cleaning them and see if that works. good luck cleanin em cause I can't figure out how to take them apart myself.

your going to have a lot of brake problems because you have drum brakes. disk brakes is the way to go but anyway you will have to run a high pressured water hose in your drum brakes everytime you ride it or you will have to change your brakes every month of more and it is not cheap i own a bearktracker just like you if you keep your brakes clean and fresh then you wont have to change them that much

ya you will have alot of problems with drum brakes. i have the same problem that your having all of the time and it is mud in your brakes. get you a repair manual and it should tell you how to take your brakes apart.
