Mac, I got a pretty good deal up here, I work on the dealers kenworth. I got retail trade in for my kodiac, i think around $3100.00. But he also gave me retail for the grizz $5200.00. I had to get a trailer, because the grizz is real tight in the back of my ranger. All together with the plow mount, 2500# winch and mount was $7500.00.

Thanks for all the input.

I talked to a dealer and he gave me some prices on the Bear Claws and wheels. He suggests I go with the 27x10x12 frt, and 27x12x12 rr on the ITP wheels. Says he has sold lots with no clearance problems.

He will also give me the same price on Maxxis Mud Bug. The tread appears a little more aggressive on the Mud Bugs and they are 6 ply (instead of 4ply Bear Claws).

Anyone have any experience with the Mud Bugs? The Bear Claws, in my opinion look like more of an all purpose tire, while the Mud Bug is aggressive and more open tread leans more toward Mud use. How would the Mud bug do on hard pack trails?

Any advise appreciated.

I have 26 inch bugs on my kodiak and love them. I mostly trail ride with the occasional mud hole, also great in snow. I thought they would be rough and choppy on hard pack, but that is not the case.

Did you use stock rims or aftermarket?

I have the stock rims. I went with the 10 inch wide tire front and back and they fit the stock rims just fine.

Hey bluekodiak....
Thanks for the info.
Do you have lots of snow out there this year? I used to live in Alberta...many years ago. Still have freinds just up the road from you in Ponoka.

right now we have tons of snow, 12 inches in the last couple days. Before that it has been light all year. I have been quadding in the west country at least twice a month and in a normal winter there would be way too much snow. We were west of Caroline last weekend and it was awesome,1-2 feet of snow and above zero, great conditions.
