This is the 2nd time my tranny went..I just paid 1500 to have it fixed 3 months ago, and 3 feet from my truck, on the way to the pit, CLUNK.....and now 3rd gear is neutral, and every other gear is locked up, or reverse, nice.
i hate yamaha so much because they said it was my "shifting habits"...

you need to get your tranny undercut. if you can do it yourself it would only cost $300.00 vs $1,500.00

man i feel bad. i'd get rid of that quad fast. or do the undercut as the above has suggested. i know if that happened to me, i'd shove it right through the dealers window, without question.

Man I feel for you dude! I hope you Raptor owners get Yamaha to take responsibility for this Tranny issue. But I tell ya, Its a slap in the face when they tell you that its your"shifting habits".I know I, like most people in this Forum have owned many quads/ATC's/dirtbikes and Never had any tranny problems. The Banshee has got to be the most abused quad in history. I bet every banshee that has ever been sold since 1987 has been through drag-race after drag-race and without any Tranny,...I mean..."shifting Habit" problems.

SO we all no that Yamaha can biult a good transmission, Why they have turned thier back on their LOYAL customer's that has bought the same models of quads year after year with little or NO upgrades(Banshee,Blaster,Warrior)and still cannot admit to their mistake is beyond me. GOOD LUCK!!! Reptile owners.

wreckraptor, the best way to cure the raptor transmission problem is to run down to your local suzuki dealer and put a down payment on the z-400

My friends just went and he was out of warranty with no extended warranty. The dealer is fixing it for free. that's right for free. Try beating on your dealer some more to get them to fix it.
