Finaly got my other tire to install on my new Douglas 1" offset wheels. (Chaparral is slow) I went from the stock 43.3 inches of width to a whopping 46 3/4, a gain of more than 3". What a difference this makes. A must with the taller tires for added stability.

How does the wider stance feel? I locked my Raptor up (full wheel slide) and it tried to barrel roll me, more width might be nice hehe.

How does it affect the quad though? Do you lose turning ability? I do a lot of trail riding (I know, this isn't the bike for it hehe and it isn't my favorite but I have a regular riding group so what can I do) and I'd hate to limit myself.

The wider stance is excellent. As the other poster said, wider is better. Anything to help keep it on its wheels is a plus. 3" gain without the cost A Arms is worth it to me. I ride a lot of trails once the warmer weather starts here in Southern California. I love riding in the mountains, it handles great IMO. I think its the perfect quad for trail riding. I haven't got to take it out and realy ride yet to be able to realy tell the improvment but what little ive got to ride it its a marked improvment. I don't see any limitations because of a few extra inches of width. One of my better moves yet for my ride.

Thanks for the information, that's just what I was looking for. Any recommendations for who's A-Arms? Should I go for 1" wider on each side, 2" wider? Should I just go for the offset wheels? And are there any good site showing wheel choices? As I said, I do mostly trail riding, next most common is flat tracking lots of little whoops and turns, after that it's a rare mix of everything from MX to the sand. I love the power this thing puts out... and at the same time, I can hardly wait to add some goodies!

ITP Wheels
Douglas Wheel

Heres a couple. There are lots of web pages to go to for many products, some with good pics some not. If you have a dirtwheels mag or other theres lots of advertisers web pages to explore. as for A arms to reccomend. I have no experience there. My brother did by some Alba 2" wider 1" forward A arms Cromed, for his Bomb DS 650. $700.00+ for them though, my wheels cost me $45.00 apiece.

The offsets you got are nice, my buddy put a set on his for the trails, I left mine stock. there was a few problems with width at certain spots in the woods. He couldn't go as fast for the fear of scubing trees, but the open trails section makes for better stability. The main problem he had was the rims took a terrible beating compaired to my stockers. You need to have either a rolled edge or reinforcment rings to handle most woods conditions. I've got a set of unpolished ITP's that I'm going to weld the rings into (inner and outer) to use this summer. If your going to run in the woods or rocky conditions, spend the extra money and get the better rims. Good luck.

i agree with sonic. i bought a set of 190 douglas wheels and destroyed them . the stock wheels are alot stronger. if you do alot of tight woods, rocks riding, get the reinforced rings in the aftermarket wheels. i had the +1 ofset wheels in the back and loved them. much more stable in the corners. plus the front is 1" wider than the back in stock form.
