Warrior wont turn over
#1
Hey the other day I went to a friends house and they have a 99 warrior that has been sitin in their barn for a year or 2 now. They beet the pi$$ out of it. So I blew up the tires and put it on the charger. The battery didnt hold a charge, but when you put the charger to start all the lights will light up. So I put it on start an hit he start button. It it didnt turn over it just clicked. So I decided to pop start it. After alittle coughin and sputering I got it goin and was riding it. So I am thinking the solinoid or the starter might be bad. What do you guys think?

Yeah we did try that and it made it run better but that wouldnt make it start better. I guess it did this same problem when the battery was good and before they parked it. So I am thinkin solinoid or startor.

Seriously, you shouldnt have to come to a forum to ask why a warrior wont start
Spark plug/fuel/fuel hoses plugged/bad gas/starts gone/cold/no compression...
To test the commpression, pull start it. Is it hard to start? Needs new piston and rings? A bore?
I sold my warrior, I didnt Beat It To ****, but I took care of it now im moving ... down to a 2002 yamaha big bear 4x4 its gone on/off 2x4 and 4x4! Boy im all revved up now and giddy.... I was deciding on a 400ex, raptor, rancher, old trx300, big bear 4x4. It all came down to that I dont have to go that fast, its muddy here! I need racks, I need reverse! I need big tires! I need a trailor hitch!

I think if your warrior do "click" and then your neutral light shutdown, it could be your battery that have not enough power or a power cable is not enough tight to your battery. If this not that, and your neutral light still on, try to jump your selenoid. If you see spark and your starter dont start, remove it and open it and see if there oil inside. If yes clean it and buy new starter seal. If there is no oil maybe youre starter brush can be done. Buy only brush it not a expensive piece. And finally if you jump the selenoid and the engine start it maybe your selenoid (only if your neutral light still on). If your heard "click" thats mean that the "relai" ((dont know name of this piece in english) the blank boxe behind green one) work.
But over that, I think this your battery have not enough of juice!

The "Start" setting on your charger (if it's like mine) isn't really strong enough to turn the motor over on it's own. It's really to help boost a really weak battery. I'd bet money once you get a battery in that it will be fine.
Also, if it has been setting you should change the gas, oil and maybe at least pour some carb cleaner in when you put fresh gas in.

Hey guys thanx for the help. But it runs fine it just wont start unless you pop start it. Once you get it goin it runs fine. And when it was on the charger the neutral light was on. What I am goin to do it ride it up to a buddy of mines who has a warrior and i wil put his battery in it and try that. If not i will try the solinoid. Thanx again boys.

Sounds like you need to clean all the electical connections between the batt & starter. Make sure you clean the ground where it goes from the neg side of the batt to where it attaches to the frame. All connections should be bright & clean, no paint or rust between ground cable & frame.
Charge or replace batt & see if it works.
Good luck.
