I thought all Warriors were 6 speed but a friend of mine says the earlier ones were 5 speed. What year did they make the change? I'm thinking of buying one and definately want the 6 speed.

All were six speeds.

Your buddy may be thinking of the older Tri-Z 250 three wheelers. The '85 was a 5 speed and the '86 was a 6 speed.

If he wasn't thinking of that,.......well........ya know.

You are right, he is wrong. Both the Banshee and Warrior debuted in 1987, and both had a 6 speed transmission. I had a friend that owned an 87 actually, and another that had a 94. Always a 6 speed.
