In this week's Maine Sunday Telegram there were two articles in regards to reckless ATVers. The biggest one dealt with a land owner battling a few of rouge riders who refuse to obey his wishes (staying off his land). INSTEAD THESE FOOLS CONTINUE TO RIDE ON HIS PROPERTY!!! Now the land owner is forced not only to post signs, but hidden cameras, gates and other blockades. The other article spoke of ATVers riding on snowmobile trails. People need to start using a little common sense!!!

i know this off the subject, but it pisses me off that they let snowmobiles have trails
and NO atv trails.(at least in my area) now you can't tell me a 150 hp studded track snowmobile is better on the "tread lightly" trails, yeah if there is 2 ft of snow, but now days we are lucky to get 2 inches, and they still ride.. so why can't we ride are avt's on these trails at the same time?

i saw this post and couldnt help but add my $.02 ..... down here in south MS, alot of our ridin is done " on the river and creeks " . unfortunately....... this has been the subject of much debate in south MS ( and elsewhere im sure ) as to whether or not the sandbars and the rivers belong to anyone., well it all blew up in our faces about a year and a half ago. there were alot of county/town meetings between the local ATV people and the local landowners. of course, according to the MAJORITY of the landowners, we are hell-raising , beer drinking, land tearing up people. now i have ridden countless days on the river and i DO NOT tear up the land and i dont litter. none the less it was a large battle and it was offically decided ( without a vote ) that the sandbars were owned by the landowners and the water itself was not. anyhow, as soon as the meetings were over/forgotten, a local landowner ( who was quite intoxicated ) shot a man on a four wheeler that was riding NEAR , not on his land. i dont know about you guys but that is sad. hopefully one day the landowners and the atv guys can get along. ever since that day that guy got shot, when i ride the river i ride a little bit faster always looking over my back ( just kidding ) , i recently found a group of friends that own 400 acres of riverside land, perfect for camping-trailblazing-river riding. I hope we can all live in harmony one day!

I want you all to think about these stories the next time some punk kid (or adult) comes on here telling how he was chased by the cops, escaped through the farmers property, blah, blah, blah...

All it takes is one bad experience with an ATVer and many people will be dead-set against all ATVers for as long as they live. Think about a person or type of person you dislike and what event triggered that dislike; it's the same for ATV haters.

I'd like to thank you guys for your positive responces. There are a few people on the forums that have called me uncool and questioned why I posted this topic. Guess they don't care what the public thinks, or what a few reckless ATVers can do in an area.
