2002 Yamaha Wolverine

hi, i am about to finance a 2002 wolverine. i was going to get a awarrior but decided not to because my dad four wheels with jeeps and i wanna tag along in the back and follow. i like the wolverine but never driven one. i dont like that it has auto clutch. do you run out of first gear right away? how fast does it go stock? can you switch from 2 wd to 4 wd on the fly? are they dinky at all?i love to ride and i wanna know if it will be too slow and all. is it versital on 4 wd? well please help thatnk. also can you give me some financing tips? thanks alot

First of all, you can't switch to 2wd at all, never mind on the fly.
It is, however, a very fun quad, and very capable in 4x4. The light weight helps alot (it's the lightest 4x4 you can buy, of any engine size, from any manufacturer).
First gear is equivilent to 2nd on most utility quads. If you really don't like/need the auto clutch, there is a simple and cheap method to convert it to full manual.
In short they're great quads. I've had mine since 99, and still love it.
They're going very cheap around here now, probably because there are big changes coming to the Wolverine for 2003. They are actually cheaper than a Big Bear here now, which only makes sense if you look at the features, but I guess Yamaha was charging a premium for the performance.
As for the finance, I don't think my expirience will apply for you, because Yamaha Canada operates differently from Yamaha in the US.
