Wheelie bar?
#2
Thanks Trexx, I had a wheelie bar on my old 250R that was an afterthought. We were loading up to go race & I rembered that I had forgot to make a bar. So we welded up a couple of pices of tube & stuck them on in like 10 min, & it looked like it! It worked but Man it was UGLY!!
When I bought my 02 Raptor I figured I'd put some thought & time into making a wheelie bar that looked as good as my new Raptor. I'd seen a few nice wheelie bars but most were like my old one just an afterthought.
The toughest part was designing the top mount so it would work & look good. The buddy that helped me happened to have an old go cart wheel, so we got a case of beer & set it about 3 feet from the rear (the wheel not the beer!!) & started cutting tubes. It's not hard to do & I've got a lot of compliments on it & it works good so mission accomplished. The new go cart wheel & tire was $80 & another $80 for chrome. If it doesn't need to be shiney & you can find a used wheel & tire it can be made cheaply (but I wanted it shiney!! ).
Talkcity doesn't have remote hosting so you can see my wheelie bar by going to My Web Site & you can see my other toys.
