Make it a Diff-Lock/Un-Lock, like the King Quad
(execpt make it avail in both ranges).

Then the Rider could choose, Easier Steering or
Superior Traction, depending on the 4wd situation.

The Grizz for now is oil cooled, in what is now 1800 miles, i have yet to expirence a overheat
or a failure.

Yes it can get very hot and humid in Minn,
esp if its a wind from the west.

Sorry Guys,

I forgot about the limited slip. I'm in agreement with the earlier reply that the selectable locker like the Suzuki King Quad would be the ticket.

I think we are doing ok for the rest of the design though. Another thing to add would be factory installed snorkeling for the engine and belt intakes and vents, and seal that belt area up TIGHT for us submariner types.

As far as the heat goes I have a 98 Grizzly that I use Yamalube 4R synthetic blend in to keep from getting persistenet overheats. I use the Grizzy for more of a farm impliment than a recreational vehicle, and it does get HOT. I pull a 400 brush cutter around with it, etc, etc...and see that damn little light come on much more than I would like.

Keep those ideas a coming, maybe we will end up in the Yamaha marketing division some day.

I did read some where that the 2001 Grizzly was supposed to have liquid cooling and switch to discs in the rear - so there maybe some truth to the rumors in previous posts. Apparently Yamaha got good feedback on the 2000 Kodiak and decided to add these features to the Grizz. I have a 99 Grizz, just hit 1000 miles last weekend and my two main compaints about the bike are the worthless "yeah right, they're sealed" rear drums and the hot running, air-cooled engine. If Yamaha follows through on the 2001 model, I'd probably buy another one and keep the 99 for a spare.

Yamalube? don't know much about it.

I use Castrol Syntech in the Grizz and
Y2Kodiak, the 426F and R6 get Wolf's Head.

The Sealed Rear Drum has been a problem for some,
one solution that works for me, putting grease
on the rubber sealing gaskets, not too much as the
excess may find its way unto the Shoes.

Overall I like My Grizzly, but as with everything
else on Earth there is room for improvement.
