I inslatted an E-series on my Raptor this weekend. I like the sort-of reasonable noise levels and gains attained with the pipe. The installation was difficult since the muffler did'nt wanna mate with the mid-pipe very well....but not excessive.
I am running a Dyno-jet kit with 146-148 mains with the needles in the Dyno-jet prescribed location. My question is has anyone altered the needle setting for more possible gains? I will mess with it anyways......just wanna see if anyone has had success and which way they went. THanks!!

I also have a E-series slip-on. Did you reuse the copper gasket from the stock silence? It help the two match up perfectly. Im also using a dynojet kit. With no problems. Running a main jets dj144,& dj146 + needles at the second position from the top.

<< stock needles are best with stock carbs no matter what your mods are to the engine except turbo >>

At one point, I would have agreed %100 with you. After dialing in my top end, my mid range was horribly rich....to the point where I reluctantly purchased a Dyno-jet kit. This kit cleaned up my mid range.....possibly the best money I have spent on my Raptor.
Looks like you have plenty invested in your engine.....whats another $60-70 bucks? Trust me....get the Dyno-jet kit and thank me later.

garyc660R,

We just don't have to many spare dyno-jet motors, so I haven't made the retrofit to the Raptor just yet.

The muffler is stock with a heat absorbing after chamber to catch the heat that is given off. I just don't want the Strategic ABM interceptor missiles to lock onto me when I am riding down the beach.

Current temp : 86 degrees, Partly cloudy, Radar is showing showers off to the East. Light winds approx. 12 mph

gary660r how do you know how rich you are in the mid range? I think I am but I don't know how to tell. Please tell me the secret!

I have a e-series pipe on my raptor and I ran 155 160 yamaha jets with the needle set on the second clip from the top. I also run a pro design air filter with three 2 inch holes drilled in my air box lid. This worked very well with mine. I also live in maine and am very close to sea level. as far as how many disks to run I run 12, that works the best for me..however I have had as many as 18 in it and just made it louder! hope this helps.
