go 400ex, more power, handles better, goes faster, one downfall, no reverse. My brother rides a warrior, and going from my 400 to his warrior is like going from a cadillac to a yugo. but he does pretty good on his warrior. as far as reliability issues go neither of us has had any major mechanical problems with either bike. ride one of each and then decide.

ride hard, jon

The FUN factor goes with the 400ex. If Reverse is an issue take a look at the Raptor since you will be at the Yamaha shop checking out the Warrior.

I like yamaha and really dont like honda. But if your looking for more performance you want the EX. The warrior is nice but you cant really do mx with it as a stock machine. 400ex you can. But if your coming of a kodiak i think you might want reverse as a luxjury

Go with the 400Ex. I've ridden a raptor and it doesn't handle as well as the 400EX. Like everyone said the only downfall is no reverse. Check out the new Z400 from Suzuki. It is the step between the 400Ex and the Raptor. If you want a proven, reliable machine than get the 400EX.

I had a Warrior for years, and I was never so happy as the day when I sold it and got a 400EX!!! The 400 is the best trail bike available today, and you can mod it up really well.

It basically comes down to two or three questions:

How important is a reverse to you?
How much money are you going to spend, are you buying new or used?

Well that's how it was for me and also I thought it would be easier to learn how to use a clutch on a Warrior. I was planning on building 250r quad or upgrading the Warrior so I bought 'used'.
