Blaster top end

my son has a 2000 blaster with fmf fatty pipe, power core 2 silencer, boysen powe reeds, k and n filter. we are only getting 3 to 6 months out of a top end. is this normal for this quad. he just started racing it last month and he rides this quad hard. i was told by some of the guys at the track that 3 months is about normal for the top end.

so no one on the yamaha forum owns a blaster and has had to deal with rebuilding their top end........ok

ok i think that the top end is wearing a little fast on your bike. first are u running premix or are u running the stock injection. if using premix 32.1 is what u should be using. for now this is all i can think of is the motor is not getting enough oil. write back with more info about what the cylinder walls and piston look like after u take them out.

i think that u are jetted too lean try a 250 or 260 main jet.
