When we first built the Raptor motors we called the 686 a 680 because it had a nice ring to it. But as time went by it became apparent to us that size does matter so we decided to call it what it is a 686. So to make a long story short the 680 is a 686.

hey airraptor! thanks for the info. i had not heard anything about the ct kit or of anyone that has it so i didn't know if it was just really new or if it just sucked. how much was your 686 kit w/labor and all? if you don't mind me asking.

oh yeah! does the stock suspension hold the power of the 686 ok? i plan on doing a suspension upgrade anyway but not before i get more power. this is if i keep the raptor. if i can sell it for what i want then i am gonna get a c-dale speed. if not i will be perfectly happy with the raptor. i just like to try new things! nothing against yamaha at all. by the way, i have had no probs with my tranny or carb boots or starter probs! knock on wood!

Charlito- I have never seen or ridden another 686 raptor other than my trinity 686. I am TOTALLY satisfied. Best bang for the money. Trinity had my parts for 3 1/2 weeks. They have done alot of these kits. Everybody on this forum with a TRINITY motor is very satisfied. Who really knows what the other shops do? I don't. So i went with who has done the most. Go to trinity web site, check it out. It looks like they have modern facilities and equiptment, not a 30x40 garage like some builders. I went with the basic kit, with a few upgrades, pro-port and larger intake valve. I think it will last a long time. Does not seem like it is on the ragged edge. I the drag races i have been in so far, no competition. A 2001 'shee with toomeys and trinity stage 4 carb was the closest, and he was 6 quads back and fading fast. Before the kit he was 5 ahead of my raptor with a gyrt slip-on, no lid pro-design, dyno jet kit on the money raptor. The few calls that i made to trinity, sold me on them. Everyone was NICE and HELPFUL. I had trouble with the jetting when i got mine back together. (dyno-jet needles and factory jets do not work, i know i tried many of them) I called trinity on a saturday afternoon and the woman who answered the phone said no one was in that could help me. She took my number and said someone would call me back. Yeah right i thought. I figured that i would just call them again on monday morning. 1 hour later i noticed a missed call on the cell phone, 2 minutes later it rang again. Harry was on the line. He told me how to fix it. The jets that they sent were right on. I was impressed! I usually feel that companies give me the run around, or don't care. Trinity was different, so i do not mind giving them a plug. They did me right, i am sure they can make you happy. At this point i could care less about the other builders, even if somebody was to make a few more ponies (i doubt it ) because trinity exceded all of my expectations. I recieved a good product for a fair price, you can not hope for anything better than that.
