Hey guys,

I ride in pretty Rocky conditions (duh..Rocky Mountains) and I seem to beat the pulp out of my wheels. I was looking at getting Douglas .190 wheels and having the OMF outer rings welded on. Do these protect the rim edge well? How about adding them to the stock Raptor wheels? Where is the best place to buy the douglas/omf combo and where is the best to send the stock wheels to be retrofitted..OMF?

Thanks,

Mark

They will protect your wheels but even retrofitting your old wheels will be expensive & won't protect against all big hits.

The new Hiper tech Carbon fiber wheels cost as much as aluminum beadlocks with the rings welded to the inside but are almost indestructable. Since you ride in very rocky terrain these may prove to be a good investment.
I think Dirtwheels did a test & used a pro rider & told him to try to break them & he broke the quad but not the wheels.

i've got them on the front of my raptor, and they seem to work. try running a little higher air pressure to avoid sidewall punctures, dents in your wheels. don't bother buying the 190 without the rings. they are not as tuff as the stock wheels without. i found out the hard way...also running a 6 ply tire with a stiff side wall will help save your wheels. hyper wheels are nice, but $700.00 a set is too much. plus i like the chrome look.
