Has anyone had any problems with the electric motor that engages your 4x4? I know of a guy that bought a 02 Kodiak and after about 3 months he could get into 4x4 anymore. It turned out to be the 4x4 motor that died. If it wasn't for warranty it would have cost him 535 bucks Canadian. I own the identical atv and his situation kind of spooked me. I've never noticed any post on the forum that had this problem. It's possible that its just a bad motor.

Any feed back would be great

Thanks.
Marc

Read the recent "01 Kodiak 4x4 problems" thread. A guy there has had the 4x4 servo replaced TWICE!!! Maybe there is a problem with soome of the Kodiak's servos.

I'm the lucky guy who had his servo replaced twice. My dealer and Yamaha can't explain it. At first they thought it may be a short or power serge of some kind but the 3amp fuse is intact which should have blown if that were the case. My dealer went to bat for me and got the necessary repairs after Yamaha initially said they were not going to warranty the part$$$$$$$. I have a month left on my warranty I know I will be testing the 4x4 system alot to make sure it's not an manufactures defect. If anyone hears of anything similar please advise.
