heres a little something for you raptor riders to look at
Quoted from dirtwheels regarding z400:
"The initial reports are that the machine is indeed very fast and has awesome handling manners. As it stands now, it could very well be the best high-performance quad one could buy right now"

If they said that it might be the best high performance quad yet, they have never looked at the spec sheet for the cannondale moto 440. They hype up every new quad up. For all we know, the quad will be geared too tall, have a weak second gear and a flimsy axle....but then again, who would build a quad that crappy

As long as we're talkin quotes here goes:
ATV Sport 2002 Buyers Guide pg.50 "The Raptor is one of the most versatile high performace sport rides."
ATV Action March 2002 pg. 39 when asked why they chose the Raptor as the overall winner in their 2002 Ultimate Hi-Performance Shootout they responded "Well it wasn't an easy decision, but we felt that the Raptor consistantly did everything well.

raptorrider, i know that atv action said that they THINK that the raptor might be faster, but i never said anything about speed, i was talking about a quote that said the z400 is starting to look like the BEST(not fastest) sport quad currently available. hmmm, lets see.... if the z400 handles and jumps so much better than the 400ex than it must do that better than the raptor too seing as how the 400ex handles and jumps better than the raptor
oh and also, don't bother replying with the typical reply of "well if you put a wider axle and wider a-arms on the raptor and add aftermarket shocks that the raptor handles much better"

yeah i think that suzuki if finally getting back on it's feet and producing some quads that are actaully competitive now. i love suzuki's but dont' get me started on suzuki's mid to late 90's non-agressive approach to producing quads and being a viable company. now we just need yamaha to stick the wr400/426 motor into a quad frame(h3ll, just lower and widen the raptor frame) and then there will be some real mid size competition between manufactorers. well except for honda ofcourse, the 400ex is a great sport/trail quad, but it just can't compete in stock form. with the introduction of the z400 i kind of wonder what honda will do.... flash back to about 15 years ago, suzuki releases the lt500r and yamaha releases the banshee, what does honda do? stop producing the trx250r of course
