Is it about to blow up???
#1
Ok guys, got the blaster back from the shop today, new clutch , crankcase gasket, new brakes F/R , air filter. crank it up and it seems ok for about 5 min. Then it starts acting a lil weird so i kill it. Ok it will crank up and rev out and ride ok BUT , if you kick it over when the key is off , the piston doesnt sound like its moving in the cylinder correctly, this is really hard to describe, its almost like it is scratching on the inside??? Also, when the crank gasket went a couple of months ago, it blew some oil out the front, the oil got on the pipe of course but the pipe smokes a little bit when it gets hot, is it just burning off the caked up oil? I dont know what to do with this bike, I dont want to put a top end in it right now, I dont have the $ for it. Do you guys think that it is on the way out? HELP ME! The oil on the pipe will just burn off, but if that bothers you clean it off with some solvent(let it dry well before starting). It might still smoke a little from the solvent but it won't last long. As for the piston noise, pull off the head and watch the piston move up and down. Also look for bad scratches the cylinder wall. A ring might be broken, then you will have no choice but to replace the piston and rings, good luck!
