i was on e-bay the other day and saw some guy that had some stronger pegs to put on them. I thought it was a waist since i don't see a problem with the floor boards.

OK....I'm going to try and remember as much as I can about this. I haven't ran into it since last Fall. [You might want to look at some of the topics regarding Grizzly660s from last November and December]

Alot of Grizzly660 owners were having problems with the floorboards being weak and giving way. If you look under the floor board, you will see why. Yamaha put no bracing under them.

There was a Yamaha dealer ,in Washington state I believe, that Yamaha subcontracted to make steel re-inforcements to go under the floorboards.
When a customer complained about a problem, Yamaha would have the dealer in Washington send the re-inforcements to the dealer in which the owner purchased the quad. When the parts arrive, the dealer pays for them COD. Then your dealer sends the invoice to Yamaha for reimbursment. You pay nothing. Once installed, there is no weakness.

I'm surprised that Yamaha couldn't help you out with this unless they are simply no longer honoring these requests. I haven't had anyone want them since last Fall.

Try calling them again and tell them what I just wrote. Maybe someone there will remember and tell you how to go about getting the fix.

Sorry, but I can't be for 100% sure if the dealer was in fact from Washington state or not. When you have time, dig up the old Grizzly660 topics from Nov. and Dec. They are chock full of info. that no one is talking about anymore.

the lady i talked to put me on hold for about 5 minutes and said she had contacted parts and that they never offered anything for the supports.i have been around 50 different 660 grizzs from out on the trail and new at dealers and everyone has the weak design.i can step on it and make the side panel beside the gas tank pop loose at the bottom.its not just mine.over at atvnation.com those boys are having the same trouble.but yamaha has got new supports out because a few over there have posted pictures of the new design on the site.yamaha must be retarded to have people answering the customer service phones in which have probbaly never even seen a atv.i am very disappointed in the design from yamaha. one thing about my old junk polaris is that i never had to worry about the plastic coming loose because of a weak support.

They haven't addressed the problem yet, cause my Griz is only a week old and the side panel keeps popping off mine also.
I'm taking a trip to the dealer today for backordered center caps, and I'm gonna find out what he has to say about the fix.

Just be thankful that you aren't dealing with Kawasaki's Customer Service.

When the ZX1200 Nija came out two years ago, I had to call them for information on a part because they hadn't issued the dealers any parts fiche yet. I can't remember what the part was for but I stayed on hold so long that the guy got back on and told me he would call me back later.

I got a call two DAYS later saying that he had found the part number and would ship it to me next day air in return for him taking so long with my request.

The next day, I got a ..........Gas Tank Cap for a Generator!!!!!

A call to the same department but with a different person got the mess straightened out.

What does this stupid story have to do with this????

This happens to everybody and if you eventually end up talking with someone who actually knows what is going on....you will find the information that you need. Don't give up!!!

Have a friend with the same problem, he fixed them on his own and here is his website to explain how to fix the floor boards. Scroll down the page till you see the floor boards and below that he explains how he did it. Hope this helps.
