Hello, just purchased a brand new 2002 Grizzly 660. Going through the break in process this weekend.

I saw another post about mpg's on the grizz, but no definate answer. I am not gonna complain if its low, but would like to know my half way point if not carrying gasoline with me.

any idea what I might expect at about 6000 above sea level? Or any level for that matter.

thanks in advance

We ride our 660's between 1500 and 7000 feet. We are all getting around 15-17 m.p.g. I hope this helps.

I just got through breaking mine in, and during this period i got got a bit less, maybe 13-15 mpg. I believe this is because of the iol, and the constant variation of throttle.

I go between 70-85 miles before the gas guage goes to nothing. Never ran it dry though, and I haven't ever made any 80 mile trips so its not a factor.

not sure if anyone cares or not, just got back from the weekend ride. put a quick 100 miles on the odometer. gotta love this machine. I find that I am having about a 80 mile range per tank of gas at about 6000 feet above sea level. It may loosen up some once the break in period is over, however its not a big diesel engine so I don't expect to gain much.

I gotta say I LOVE the low end torque!!!!!!!
