My 02' Raptor has been sitting for two weeks. When I turned the key on today the temp light came on and stayed on. This bike has never been overheated in it's short life so I am really confused by the light. Anybody else had this happen?

That's got to be a wiring or sensor problem, probably shorted wire. If you raptor doesn't have a history of overheating I'd say check the coolant and ignore it till you get a chance to fix or take to the dealer.

You are absolutely correct Elrancho, it was a short. I had changed out my handlebar centerpiece to a Trail Tech clamp and in the process had pinched a wire. Chalk this one up to owner stupidity.

It only counts as stupidy if you do it twice...so far, it was just a dumb mistake.
