1) 4th gear instead of 3rd...I was full bore in 3rd and missed the lander by 3 feet. If I was only going maybe 2 mph faster. I wish I would have paced one of the other 3 riders who were clearing the jump. I knew I was in trouble as I was heading up the ramp but it was too late.

2) I am getting to old for this MX stuff. Maybe drag racing is in my future too.

3) MSR's new ATV soled boots are probably missing a steel shank in the sole. My feet are really bruised and swollen. I will go back to my Alpinestars for MX riding.

4) I need some AC Propegs & nerfs. I thought the footpegs went all the way up to my ankles. This was the first accident where I didn't jump up and run around like a chicken with its head cut off. I did the flop around the ground like a fish out of water. I really hate pain, I wish it wasn't such a thrill to clear a gap. Maybe wider foot pegs would have saved me some pain.

5) Renthal bars moved but didn't bend.

6) I have the 2002 axle and cannot believe it didn't bend. It might have a minor bend in it since I haven't checked it yet but it didn't snap or have any obvious bend in it.

Can't blame my Elka shocks but just so you know how hard I hit, I blew the top right off the rear shock. I am fairly sure the internals hit the top so hard that it couldn't hold together. It stripped the threads from the cap and/or main tube assembly. There are a few pieces of threads hanging loose. Hopefully Elka is open tomorrow (I doubt it will be closed since it shouldn't be Memorial day there). Hopefully they can salvage most of it. Plan to call the Quad Shop too. I want it fixed in the USA if possible so I don't pay those really expensive shipping/customs charges.

The worst part is that my wrist is all messed up again. Not sure if it is cracked or not. It hurts worse than other sprains I've had but I can still type with it. Unfortunately, this happened within the first hour or so on Saturday so the whole weekend became a bust.

You and me both bro. Why does racing have to be so fun? You know that something is going to hurt by the end of the race but we still go out there and seem not to care. Even when you have the greatest race you have ever had, there is always that akward landing that makes you feel like your spine just folded in half, or that unexpected bump that isn't bad but just hits perfectly enough to remind you of that old wrist injury, or the occasional gas tank to the nuts when hitting the whoops.

Hope you get to feeling better, I cased a triple and sprained my wrist, bent my bars, and my lower right a-arm a while back. Just remember the pain is gonna go away, and yet, there will ALWAYS be more. It coulda been worse.

Pain is just a part of racing.......learn to enjoy it. Along with a side of pain killers.

That sucks man, pain hurts but we have all been there at least once, as for the boots man, stick with the Alpinestars, I cased a tripple, last summer and the throttle stuck open after the landing ( Yamaha had a recall on it 1 month later) and twisted up my ancle bad, but I knew that if I wern't wearing the Alpinestars tech 8's it would have been a lot worse.

Take a break, get the bike fixed and take it easy for a while till you heal.
