I put Kenda Bear Claws on my Y2K kodiak 4x4. I stayed with the OEM tire size. 25-8-12 fronts & 25-10-12's rear. They are MUCH better than the OEM's. I did notice that when mounted and aired up, off the quad, the fronts were 1\2" or more shorter than the rears standing side by side. I let it go because I figured it would be OK on dirt. NOT SO.
All was well in 2x4 and 4x4 slow crawling. How ever one day while riding with a friend we crossed a shallow swamp and I went into 4x4 to be safe and to make a steep incline easier at the edge of the swamp. Well after making the hill we hit a flat and he gassed it. I went after him and I couldn't get over 33 MPH. It seemed like a brake was on or somthing. Then I noticed I was still in 4x4. I took it out of 4x4 and all was well.
I called Kenda USA and reported the problem. The man was Very open to this. He said he would call the factory and get back to me. This was Friday and he called back Tuesday. He had me give him some numbers off of the tire and informed me that my lot was a early one that was from a different mold. The next lot from a newer mold is the correct height. He is shipping me a new set.
I really like the tires. At 3.2 psi they are smooth. This is a 4 ply rated tire.
