Did'nt Trout lose to a piped Raptor????

I don't want to make excuses because I wasn't there, but Trout is also in need of another engine due to a oil problem. (Which Cannondale is covering for [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img])

Thrusts comment about it's only a 400 made me laugh. Last year at one of my rides there were 2 Raptor guys talking to my friend & I. We were both on 400EX's (I was riding my girls). There were 2 guys there on 416EX's. The one Raptor rider goes & races the 416 & gets beat. When he comes back his friend start bustin' on him for losing to an EX. The Raptor guy that lost says, "Yeah but it was a 416!!!!" Like he just raced an Artic Cat Thunder Thousand or something.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT WAS A 416 !!!!!

<< Look guys I didn't start this topic to hear everyone wine about this and that I just wanted to know what you guys thought of the new Z-400. I mean it seems pretty impressive for a 400. You would think with all this competition Yamaha would get off their *** and make a 400 or some type to keep with the 400EX and the Z400. I know that you guys will wine why go lower when they have already built a 660 well for racing purposes. Isn't a 440 limit on ATVs in racing in the pros. >>



I think the Z400 will turn out to be top dog when it comes to motocross. It has a proven power plant and from what I've seen so far it takes well to mods. It's the best bang for the buck when it comes to 400s. ( It's not rocket science, just do the math)

I truely believe Yamaha within in the next year or two will come out with a 400 4-stroke class quad (&quot;AKA 426 or 440&quot that will stomp the $hit out of the competition. Yamaha has always produced dominate quads. This is just my opinion and if nobody likes it, oh well flame away!

 

Really if you mean race dominate quads than no-one even comes close to Honda.
As far as Yamaha producing dominate quads. The Banshee is a classic no doubt. But the Raptor is no faster than an overweight tank of a machine DS-650 or the teeny weeny small bore C'dale. The Grizzly really doesn't dominate the Prarie or the Sportsman. I really can't think of any other Yamaha quad one might think dominates another manufacture in that same class. If Yamaha makes a 400cc class quad that &quot;dominates&quot; the other 400cc quads it will be thier first dominate quad since the Banshee. In my opinion anyway....

Rumers, rumors... Polaris &amp; that rumored 400-500cc sport quad, the rumored Yamaha 400cc quad &amp; the rumored 'Bomb 400cc quad.

 

And what production quad does Honda Have right now ?

 

Give it time, the Z400 will CRUSH the CRaptor &amp; the Banshee. The Banshee is obsolite anyhow.
I ran 2 Craptor's down last weekend. It was'nt even a problem. 400ex's are simply a Joke.
The Z400 is the Future!!!!!!!!!! Eat that Yammy owners.

But seriously guys- the LTZ isn't a slouch in the acceleration dept., I really wasn't kidding about it outrunning stock banshees- I am Not talking the Z up to be something its not, I really don't care- theres always gonna be something faster- My buddy is trying to get a new Raptor soon, and I'll get to ride / race with him, and when I post the outcome of that, I'm sure if its against what most want to believe, I will be criticized to no end about it( AGAIN!!!)


They are ALL really pretty close in the power dept., I mean- for the most part in 300ft its gonna come down to the rider anyway. So lets all get over it and RIDE!!!!!!
