They tested the Suzuki Z400 in the latest ATV Action magazine. They see it outperforms the 400EX and that power and speed wise they feel it is up to Raptor's pace. If this is true Suzuki is really really serious about getting back into the ATV business. Yeah I know you can't believe everything you read. They even said they raced a stock 400EX up Oldsmobile Hill and spanked it. They raced a modified 400EX with FMF exhause, White Brothers ignition, and a Wiseco High Compression piston and they claim that they were dead even up the hill.

The Truth!!!!!!!!!!! Heres the real deal! They had to go to Japan to test ride the damn thing. The best of the best stocker at the Pudzuki Headquarters.
You know damn well the machine all the mags rode was'nt #2047 off the assembly line. I cannot wait to waste on of these B!tches. Heres the Dyno from one off the Floor. The Raptor still Reigns Supreme!!!

Well I would hope so being 260cc more!! You can look at it this way, too: Z400 = .07335 hp/cc Raptor = .05461 hp/cc hpmh! (granted I only went of 400cc and 660cc not the actual cc displacement, just for a quick reference)

I think it is so cool to have all these sport quads beginning to flood the market. Just think in another year or 2 there will prob. be 3 or 4 more added to the current list. Prob. more for that matter.

Touchy aren't we, Zombie660r.

For a 400cc machine in a mild state of tune I'm pretty impressed. 31.3 HP with the airbox lid off is pretty respectable. Oh, yea, it was with the DynoJet kit which probably contributed about .1 HP to the 2 HP gain. If I could sell my Warrior for a reasonable price I would pick up a Z400 in a heartbeat.

These last 2 or 3 years have been great with all of the new sport quads coming out; best time ever to be an ATVer.

Oh, by the way - The way you feel about the z400 is the way I feel about the Raptor when I'm on my Banshee; get my point?

Mild Tuned? It's got 11:1 compression and a larger cam then the 400ex.
That is why it has no low end. The 400ex has a 9:1 comp. I'm sure if you did the same to the 400ex you see the same or similar HP. Do the same to a Raptor and you'll see quite a difference.

WYODuner no I don't "Get your point" enlighten me.

Apparantly a sheer coincidence the 2 400ex's were there and no Raptor.

It's not much of a test! Small track in Japan same as the rest. Lets see what it does against the rest of the pack for real. You can't compare 2 machines if only one is present. I have talked with a couple dealers and both told me the same thing. It will beat a 400ex but its power is noware near a raptors. Plus the one that I Sat on didnt feel half as comfortable as they claim. So lets wait for some real test.

First of all, the initial magazine "reviews" mean nothing. One day a quad is the greatest fastest and best handling and the next day it is garbage. A review that takes place at a test track in Japan with no competition means even less.... Anyway....

The offroad.com link and dyno tests were impressive. A stock 400 making 29 HP and 31 HP with the lid off is decent. GT Thunder was showing mid 40s with carb, cam and pipe. To me that's pretty good for a 400cc machine.

Maybe mild state of tune was the wrong phrase; I should have said stock state of tune. Either way, this motor seems to have a lot of potential.

Zombie, you feel high and mighty because your 660cc Raptor "reigns supreme" and you can't wait to "waste one of these b!tches". Reminds me of the big bully in school picking on the little 3rd graders.

My point is this, Zombie, you feel that your Raptor is so superior over the smaller less expensive Zuki. Ok, you're faster than a z400 and I'm faster than you and somebody is faster than me and so on... Should a z400 start talking smack becasue he is faster than a 300ex; should he be proud of the fact that he is better than a smaller cheaper quad?

So to REALLY simplify my point so that even you understand it - You made an *** of yourself with your derogatory comments towards the Z400; it was uncalled for. Get it?
