is it possible and or a good idea to take 2 single head exhausts and mount them on the raptor? is it a power gain or loss? i dont know but i think it might be a loss because the exhaust ports help clear out the exhaust but i dont know...just wondering

I'm not sure how it works on a single cylinder but on multiple cylinder engines the collector (where the pipes come together) has a lot to do with the power output, Both its placement & design. That's why a 4 in to 1 exhaust makes more power than 4 single pipes.

I've got another idea, why doesn't anybody run open header? Obviously only when you are drag racing, but if you are looking for the max HP why not? I haven't heard anybody doing this, the 2-stroke guys do it with their drag pipes. I ran my Raptor this way in the garage, its way too loud to do anything but race it. You would have to have a pipe that ran out the back(The Sparks pipe like I've got would work) or a custom built header that dumps straight out of the head into collector and out. Anybody out there with a 4-sroke drag racing with an open header?

A 4 stroke reqires some back pressure, but do you rember the old megaphone 4 stroke exhausts? I thought they worked well but if it was better you'd think Sparks, Trinity or some of the others would be making something like it now.
