Ok im wondering how hard it is to take off the side cases? And what i have to becareful of? And what may pop out??? Because im polishing them. And what color should i do them??? or should i jus polish to a high gloss?

 

You will need to drain all the oil and coolant from your raptor to take off the clutch side (right side)and a new gasket. Someone said you can get it off without pulling the motor with the right tools (a swivel socket and some fancy manuvering)and while you are in there ..if it's a 2001 put a better clutch in it ..if it's a 2002 don't worry about it. the other side you can just take on and off at will..no gaskets and no oil or coolant loss.as far as color that is your taste but I think they can be powder coated just about any color you want ..personally I would go with just polishing them.

 

It depends on what kind of polishing you want to do?I didnt take of my side cases and I polished them look at them at my web site. Remember if you do all of them its hard to get in those little places after you get it muddy.

Why would the 2001 need a better clutch and not the 2002? Just because it's older?

 

The clutches are trhe same on the 01 and 02 so what are you saying a 01 needs a new one,
