I was crossing a water crossing on my wolverine and water got to deep and stalled. I know it took in water through the air intake and exhaust. Once it stalled and water got in it, I never tried starting it. What do I need to do to get all of the water out of it and it running again. I have already drained the oil and it was all milky could see the water in it. I know it got water in the exhaust because I could here it bubbling in. My gas also had water in it. I drained the gas and could see the seperation in the container, water was heavier. So what else do I need to do? Should I tear off the carb?

This is what I would do from here. First, pull your spark plug and turn your engine over to expel any water that may be on your piston. You do not want to try to turn it over with the spark plug in as water does not compress like a fuel/air mixture and you could bend your valves or cause other damage. You need to do this immediately!!! You do not want water sitting in your top end!!!! You probably want to drain your carb, but do not NEED to disassemble it. Immediately start flushing your bike with fresh oil and filters. go buy some cheap oil and a several new filters. change the filter and fill your bike with fresh oil, run it for a few minutes and change the oil. REPEAT SEVERAL TIMES!! after five or six times, changing the filter every other time you should be ready to add your normal operating oil. after 2 hours of operation I would change this oil, just to be on the safe side and that should do it for you. You do need to do this as soon as possible as the water can start to rust bearings very quickly. hope this helps.

Thanks bayougrizz for the help. My wolverine is back up and running after that bad water crossing. One thing I did find is that it does float when you get off of it, in deep water.

yeah, but one bad thing about bikes floating in deep water.............its hard to control them if they want to tip. learned the hard way and shortened my snorkels soon after. glad to hear that your bike is back up and running.
